Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City of Brawley Development Services Department on April 1, 2026, at the time and place indicated below. The original public hearing date of March 18, 2026, has been suspended. The purpose of the public hearing will be to hear comments from the public regarding the following subject:

The City of Brawley intends to amend the Zoning Ordinance to allow for water dispensing stations/services (water stores) to be established within any commercial zone. The term “water store” will be strictly defined to restrict these retail outlets to the sale of purified water, ice, and materials that are incidental to the dispensing of water such as three-gallon bottles. The City recognizes that water stores provide a much needed service to residents that is not as intensive as typical corner stores, neighborhood markets, or other small retail outlets.

Any person wishing to comment on the above project may do so in writing or may appear in person at the public hearing. The written public comment period began on February 25, 2026, and will now end on March 26, 2026.
