City of Brawley Celebrates Completion of Street Improvement Projects and Announces More to Come

Brawley, CA — The City of Brawley Public Works Department is proud to announce the successful completion of several major street improvement projects between July 2024 and July 2025, significantly enhancing road safety, accessibility, and drivability for residents, businesses, and visitors.

These projects, funded through a combination of state and local resources, reflect the City’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure investment and long-term community development.

Recently Completed Projects (July 2024 – June 2025):
  • SB1 Projects

    • 2nd Street (Malan Street to K Street), 3rd Street (River Drive to A Street), H Street (Rio Vista to Las Flores Drive), and C Street (1st Street to Imperial Avenue)

    • Included road rehabilitation and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handicap ramps

  • Local Partnership Program Grant

    • C Street (Western Avenue to 1st Street), Steven Street, and Ronald Street (Richard Avenue to Evelyn Avenue)

    • Included road rehabilitation

  • Main Street Waterline Installation & Roadway Resurfacing

    • From 1st Street to Eastern Avenue

    • Included new waterline installation and road resurfacing

  • East Brawley Street Maintenance Improvements - Phase I

    • South Malan Street to North Jones Street; Best Road to 9th Street (East and West)

    • Included crack sealing, slurry sealing, and fog sealing

“These completed projects mark an incredible step forward in improving our city’s infrastructure,” stated Mayor Gil Rebollar. “We’re incredibly proud of the outstanding progress made by our Public Works team and contractors. Their dedication ensures safer, longer-lasting roads for everyone in Brawley.”

The Brawley City Council remains deeply committed to investing in the City’s infrastructure and ensuring that all neighborhoods benefit from improved streets and public spaces. As part of this commitment, several more roadway improvements are already in the pipeline for the upcoming year—July 2025 through July 2026.

Upcoming Street Projects (July 2025 - June 2026):
  • Surface Transportation Block Grant

    • B Street (Palm Avenue to Eastern Avenue)

    • Roadway improvements including pavement replacement, ADA ramps, striping, and sidewalk enhancements (Fall 2025)

  • Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant & RPS7 Grants

    • Western Avenue (Main Street to Highway 86)

    • Asphalt resurfacing, striping, sidewalk, and handicap ramp improvements (Fall 2025)

  • SB1 Project

    • Best Road (Main Street to Jones Street)

    • Resurfacing and pavement marking (Spring 2026)

  • Federal Aviation Administration Grant

    • Ken Bemis Road to Jones Street

    • Micro-milling and rubber asphalt treatment (Spring 2026)

  • Measure D - Street Maintenance Improvements Phase II

    • From 5th Street to West City Limits and Southern Limits to K Street

    • Crack sealing, slurry sealing, and fog sealing (Spring 2026)

  • City Maintenance Project

    • Citywide potholing, crack sealing, and fog sealing by Public Works crew (Fall 2025)

*All dates are tentative and subject to change. Construction schedules will be shared in advance. Efforts will be made to minimize traffic disruption.
