Youth Programs

Participating in an after-school boxing program can provide many benefits for our youth, especially "at-risk" youth. Boxing is a physically and mentally demanding sport that requires discipline, focus, and determination, all of which can be valuable life skills for young people.

Police Explorers Program is a hands-on program open to young men and women ages 14-20, interested in a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system.

The program offers young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship, and patriotism.

Brawley Police Explorers along Advisor Sergeant M.Cano contributed to the opening ceremony of the NBA game between the LA Clippers and the Detroit Pistons on Feb. 10, 2024.

DEVELOPING PROGRAMS

JUNIOR EXPLORERS

The Junior Explorer Program stands as a pivotal bridge in the journey of young individuals aspiring to develop skills and knowledge in law enforcement and civic responsibilities. Catered to 12 and 13-year-olds, this program is uniquely designed to build upon the foundations laid in the earlier Police Pee-wee Program, setting the stage for the more advanced Explorer Program for ages 14-20. At its core, the Junior Explorer Program is an embodiment of commitment to nurturing well-rounded, community-minded, and physically fit young citizens, ready to take on greater responsibilities and challenges.

PEE-WEE EXPLORERS

The Pee-wee Explorer Program is the beginning stage to develop skills related to law enforcement, such as, discipline, organization, and civic duties. Catered to 10 and 11-year-olds, this program is designed to introduce children to the importance of being a service to the community and how those skills can lead to a career in law enforcement. Not only will they focus on discipline but also develop nutrition and fitness goals while keeping up with their academics and the love for learning.

The Brawley Police Youth Soccer Program is designed to model basic soccer skills while also incorporating tools and resources to succeed in soccer, school, and life. Provide a space for youth in our community to exercise their body and mind through soccer. This program will enhance and model grace, dignity, and composure. Promote the principle that everyone is worthy of being treated with respect and dignity and refrain from taunting and any act that demeans, disrespects, or threatens anyone. Not only will they focus on discipline but also develop life goals while keeping up with their academics.
